A note to all: Xanga automatically posted the last blog. Not me. I am not bringing Xanga back. Also Xanga, I hate you for breaking my record of no posts.

In opposition to this coorporation's presumptuous activities, I propose that no one posts for one week. Freakin' fascists.

What to say, what to say.....

This past Friday evening, in a moment of mental weakness, I attended a "Coming Out" party in honor of the 7th and final Harry Potter book at Barnes&Noble. Now, I'd been to one of these before, with these same friends, a few years ago for the 3rd book I believe, and swore that I'd never return to witness the horror of the almost cult-like fans. If only I would have had the evidence I have today, to review as a warning to myself of what was to come.
The evening began with Audrey, one of the more zealous HP followers, attempting to slam me against a minivan and draw the infamous scar of Potter on my forehead - to help me blend with the festivities.

    Exhibit A

One benefit of the evening was that I got some Starbucks Though, I made sure to get it elsewhere because I knew there would be throngs of coffee, as well as book lovers there. I was right.

We only made it to section C-2-1, I believe...

Another perk was watching Jenna and Audz play with da puppets, and our new friend whats-his-face for eye candy© in the background (phrase "eye candy" coined and copyrighted by Shannon Picazo)...

This is a disturbing little skit that a few overzealous fans hyped up on caffeine at midnight put on for the crowd. unfortunately for you all, I only caught the tail end when the character I can only assume is Harry slays...some other school boy that I'm sure he fights at some point throughout the books....

In other news - I'm flying on a plane this week, leaving the ES timezone for the first time evers

Shannon and I are up in New York for  few days to Macker's house. 5ish hour trip up, and I was in a non-reading mood, so it got old quick. A note - I absolutely abhor driving through Pennsylvania. Their roads are awful and it's quite ugly. So, my view the whole way up was Macker's bum:

It has been grand doing nothing, though. Watching movies, going on walks, coffee-shops, salsa making, star gazing, and exciting grocery store runs at almost 1 in the morning. This was one amazing grocery store though.

every grocery store should have an awesome lobster tank...you know, for the kids.

AND they had an amazing gummi bear selection. here we find a typical American gummi family - dad, mom, 2.5 kids. (the dog's around somewhere)

If I could have captured how incredible the sky looked last night, i would put it here, but there's no way I could. We laid outside for nearly an hour just taking it all in, and I saw 4 shooting stars I've only seen one before when I was around 12 or 13. Heading back down today, then back to work.

Hola people. Summer is going well. Busy with taking care of my brothers, doing their 4 tutoring subjects, and work at Talbot's. I've switched my employment from AT Loft to Talbot's - it was a long time coming and I was pretty much the only one left of all the old employees of the last 2 years, kinda sad.
Talbot's is really good, a great change. The clothes are so freakin' expensive there's no drive to buy anything, it's more of an older women's clothing style as well. My fellow associates are all much older than me, one of whom I can't scan the clothing with the price scanner (PDT) while she's around because it may set off her defibrillator, lol. They've found out I'm single and I'm now having to fend off the "Well, you know I have a son/grandson your age, such a nice boy..." comments.

So today, I was making some chocolate chip cookies with my brother, Daniel. I turn around to tell him to grab the salt and i see this-

    - he had made a mess and was no engaging in the obvious cleanup protocol, lol...

And he didn't dress for the occasion, he just happened to have his ch.chip cookie shirt on today, lol. mmk, time for me to go to work. Have a fabulous day and remember folks - blue toilet water is weird, abnormal, and is not to be tolerated.

About Me

  • Hey, I'm Kaitlyn. I'm generally a nice (I try, anyway), happy, sometimes amusingly random kinda girl. I'm always up for a fun time with friends. Enjoy just about everything except spiders crawling on me. College life is tough, but it's a fun time. I'm learning a lot, in and out of classes. Favorite verse: 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
